Introduction

S. Ismat Shah is a professor of physics and astronomy,materials science and engineering. He alsoserves as the director of energy and environmental policy programat University of Delaware. He received his DuPont Postdoctoral Fellow from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He teaches courses in Physics and Astronomy, Materials Science and Engineering.

Research Interests

The areas of Dr. Shah`s research include:

1. Nanomaterials for Energy, Environment and Water, including inorganic materials (CuInGSe2) and organic materials (P3HT/PCBM) based solar cells, device modeling, materials for photocatalysis, etc.

2. Large band gap oxides (TiO2) nanoparticles: Band structure modification.

3. Photocatlysis and Photoelectrocatalysis.

4. Nanomagnetics: Ferrites, Haussler alloys, core shell geometries.

5. Surface and interface analyses: XPS and UPS characterizations for studying interface interactions in electronic devices.

6. Science, Ethics, Diversity and Policy.

He has more than 220 peer reviewed publications. There are 4 additional papers that are currently under review. His h-index is 44.
